Stay Calm

Under any circumstance, you shouldn't panic as that will just impede your decision making and judgement

Call the Police Immediately

Dial 911 (or any other number depending on where you live) and report the incident to law enforcement

Unless the property belongs to you, you should stay away from it until the situation deescalates in "heat" (criminal activity)

Do Not Engage with the Criminal

You shouldn't try to talk to or assault the criminal, doing so may put you in danger

Improve Your Safety Measures

Check if you have a broken window, an open door, a crack somewhere, or a dead angle not seen by cameras

Try to Know & Track what is Lost

Count your stuff and see what is missing, report the information to law enforcement
